Around this time last year, I couldn’t wait to return to the Himalayas. Southeast Asia had been incredible - I miss it dearly - but I needed a proper farewell to the country I miss the most.

And I couldn’t have asked for a better way to say goodbye.

That morning, Chomolungma was already awake, looming in the west, rising behind her fourth and fifth sisters, Lhotse and Makalu.
And right in front of me stood the third, Kanchenjunga, the belly of the Sleeping Buddha.
